Dear All,
I've just tried the Message Rules -> Mail. I'm trying to set "Where the message is from the specified account" (POP3) then move it to the specified folder (a local folder). And I've got the following screen.
It always has a cross and when I click the check box beside, I'll got an error message saying "You cannot enable a rule that is in error. Please fix the rule before you try to enable it again."
However, I cannot find out what is the error. Can somebody help? I'm using Windows XP professional with WLMD.
Thanks a lot.
Regards,
Alex AU

Cannot Create Mail Rules
That looks like an early version of the program. Message Rules work in v. 774, but you must create the folder first if you are contemplating a rule that moves a message to a specified folder. But, I'd suggest you get a copy of the latest build since the interface has a different appearance from what you posted. -- Jim Pickering, MVP, Outlook Express/Windows Mail https://mvp.support.microsoft.com/profile=F9F51EF1-4AE3-4D23-B2D8-1171988A62D6 Please deliver feedback to the newsgroup, so that others can be helped.

Dear Jim,
Thanks for your response. But I'm already using V8.0.0774.

Tools | Accounts - Do you have an account by that name? Do you have a Personal folder?
-- Frank Saunders, MS-MVP OE/WM Reply in newsgroup "They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security"
It seems this error only happens with the "from specefic account" rule.
If u need a workaround, u could try the "where the to or cc line contains people" rule (with the account adress as "people"). But u may have come up with that urself.
Well, your graphic is quite different from what I see in the Message Rules in Windows Live Mail Desktop, but you've still not answered the basic question: i.e., do you already have the folder created under your local folders for the specific account, before you attempt to make the rule to move messages? -- Jim Pickering

Dear Sim,
You are right, it is only the from specific account rule has the problem.
Your suggestion is good but not fit my case as my computer needs to receive my wife's email as well as mine, sometimes, the email are for both of us so I cannot use the rule of to or cc to move the message to separate folder.
Thanks a lot. I'll try other work around rules.

Dear Jim,
Since I'm migrating from Outlook Express and I can see all the "Local Folder" which WLMD has created for me, and I just want to recreate the mail rules that I used in Outlook Express in WLMD. I think these are the folder you mentioned.
BTW, in another thread, sim.seb has already mentioned that, it is only the "From specific account" rule not work. I've tried "To or CC contains" rules, it's fine.
Thanks for your information.

Alex AU
